Day 28

I just can't keep up with this family.... After staying at Surry Hills for a few days we were all off again.  Nanny went back to see Poppy for a few days and Mummy and I moved to Chatswood.  Mummy was a bit worried about where we would be staying and would I be having a room to myself again??
Then Nanny came back and we were ALL at Chatswood for 4 more days.  I went on play dates, played at the park and went shopping with Nanny a few times.  One day we all went to visit my cousin Rowan.  He lives a long way away so we went there in a train.  We had lunch at his Nanny's house and I played with some of Rowan's toys.  It was lots of fun.

The next day Nanny and Mummy and I flew back home in Melbourne.   We arrived quite early at the airport so Nanny and I had time to enjoy a coffee before the flight.  It was so good to get back home and sleep in my own cot and play with my toys again.

Mummy was here for a few days and then she went again.... but Nanny and I have been very busy.  We went to the Zoo one day with Ollie and Lennan.  I saw so many animals.  The lions and tigers; the bears and the elephants; the giraffes and the zebras.    The best part though was the Butterfly House.  That was so beautiful with all sorts of butterflies flying about.  They were all different sizes and colours.  Just beautiful.

One day Nanny and I went to find the Toy Library at Maidstone.  It was in the Community Centre and when we got there we found a Play Group so I stayed for the morning and had a great time.   There were games and colouring; songs and snacks.  I hope I can go again next week.

Today Nanny and I went to the Science Place.  I have been there before and it is great fun.  They have a part called the Nitty Gritty City which has all kinds of activities for little kids like me.  I liked building with the plastic shapes.

We had lunch outside near the playground and we fed the noisy sea gulls with bread.

I spoke to Mummy today and she is coming home tomorrow... Hurray.....  At Last....

I am such a lucky girl.  Over the last few months I have been to some really exciting places with Mummy and Nanny.  I wonder where we are off to next?

Day 27

Yep ... I was right.  We packed up and Mummy borrowed a car so we could drive from Canberra to Sydney.  It took us about three hours.  Mummy and Nanny talked all the time and I just looked out of the window.
Mummy and I are staying at Surry Hills and Nanny is going back to her home to see Poppy for a few days.  While Nanny was away Mummy and I did so many things.  We went to the park on Crown Street near where we were staying and to the library opposite to borrow some books for a few days.  Mummy and Aunty Sophie and I went to the zoo and we saw lots and lots of animals.  Mummy bought me an elephant.  I have called him Eddy.  We went to cafes too.  I like the baby chinos.  They have marshmellows with them.  Yummy.

When we were staying in Canberra I had a room to myself and Mummy and Nanny shared.  I started out sharing with Mummy but she kept on waking me up at about 3 o'clock in the morning and I couldn't get back to sleep.  I had some terrible nights. So Mummy decided that I should be alone in my own room and that she would share with Nanny.
That was a good idea.  I slept so much better.   I liked having my own room and my own bathroom too....  I hope Mummy doesn't wake Nanny up.  She wont be very pleased.

When Nanny came back we had a
great day at Darling Harbour.   I played in the water jets and the sand pit.  I liked that a lot.

We walked back to the car and fed the sea gulls on the way.  They were really hungry and noisy.

Then we had lunch at a Chinese Restaurant.  I learnt how to use chop sticks.  It was so much fun.  You can do all kinds of things with them.  Mummy and Nanny use them to pick up their food.  I liked drumming on the little bowls best. That was lots more fun I think.

The bags are out and we are off again.  Nanny has going home and we are off to Chatswood.  I can't keep up with this.......

Day 26

Yeh... I was right.  We are going away.  We are going to a place called Canberra.  Mummy will be there and we will be staying for 5 or 6 days.
Nanny had to pack all her clothes and my clothes into one bag.  She really had to push my monster suit in when we were getting ready to leave.   Her bag was so full.

Nanny and I caught a plane to get to Canberra and I had my own seat.  It was so much fun.  The lady gave me a drink and a biscuit too.  I really enjoyed the flight.  Nanny said that I am a Frequent Flyer now.   Nanny and I went to the place we were staying at and there was Mummy.  I was so happy to see her. She had been away a long time.

We had some great days in Canberra. I had a ride on a Merry Go Round.   That was my first time.   Mummy and Nanny and I went to a special kids place called Questacon.  It had lots fun things for kids to do.  I liked building the tall tower and playing with the water activities.
One day Nanny took me to a play centre and I went on all the activities and on the moving Tea Cup Ride as well.  I had lots of rides on it.  I went in the green cup and the pink cup and the blue cup.  I wanted to stay in the Tea Cups and have lots more rides but Nanny said 'No'.  Sometimes Nanny is no fun at all.
Oh dear.... The bags are out again... Where are we off to now?

Day 25

Yep! I think we are both going somewhere because we are off to the library again, to return ALL my library books.  This time we are going to Footscray Library.   It is much bigger and has lots more books in it.  I can only just reach the Returns Slot.

The best part about the library is the great play area outside.  I love playing on these special  hanging things.  I have lots of gos and Nanny gets fussy and wants to leave before I have finished playing.  Nanny can be really annoying sometimes and is no fun.

One of the books I borrowed last week was about vegetables. I  just love vegetables and this was a really interesting book.  It had a page about vegetable shapes and there was a picture of a leek and an egg plant.  I hadn't seen them before so Nanny took me to the big Fruit Shop in the Plane Centre so I could see them.  They were really interesting and looked just like the pictures.  I saw a Kiwi Fruit the other day.  They are funny looking but I don't like their taste very much.  I might when I get older.

Alright Nanny, I think we should go back home and get this packing started......don't you?  I wonder where we are going?  Maybe to see Mummy..... I hope so.....

Day 24

On Thursdays we used to go the the Book Shop but Nanny always got fussy when I wanted to look at all the books and games instead of sitting on the floor with all the other children singing the songs and listening to the stories.  I do all that at home.

So we went to the library instead.
I go to three different libraries.  One is near home in Barkley Village and that is is where we were off to today.   I have my special library bag that I put my books into.  It is pink with a picture of Hello Kitty on the side.
After the library, Nanny and I went for lunch at Petitou.  We had a chicken and bacon pot pie.  It was delicious.  I played with the games at the cafe.  My neighbour Cassius was there and I played with him as well.

When we got home from the cafe I decided to take off my jeans and change into something more comfortable.   This is my red monster suit.  I wear it to bed at night.  It was a coolish day so my red monster suit was perfect.   I just have to zip it up to my chinny chin chin.... I am so cosy when I wear it.
Oh Nanny has her bag out  Is she going somewhere??

Day 23

We had a home day today.  I like them because I can do all sorts of different things.  First I started by doing some more work on my Cutting and Pasting Book.  Nanny tried to get some more letters from the shop the other day but they didn't have any so she bought some shiny shape stickers instead.  There are shapes of flowers and rabbits and other things.  I have used strips of shiny brown tape to make the picture more interesting.

Then I did a little sorting of my stone collection.  Nanny found some of the stones at her old house in Sydney and others are ones that have been collected from lots of different places.  The big black one next to Buddha is from Nanny and Poppy's farm.  The pinkish pointy one at the front was part of a tile from outside Nath's place in Korea.  Nanny found it when she and Poppy were visiting there.  I call it Nath's Stone.

I like the little Buddha too.  I was playing with him on the stairs when we were staying at Ryde and I dropped him and his head fell off.  I was very upset and Nanny wasn't very pleased either. Any way Nanny glued his head back on and he is as good as new now.
My stones live on a little black tray.  I like to spread them about on the floor in patterns and doesn't Nanny get fussy when she steps on one.  Funny Nanny...

It was another busy day... I think we are going out tomorrow....

Day 22

I had a wonderful day yesterday.  Daddy and Nanny and I went to the local swimming centre and I had a swim in the toddlers pool with Daddy.    It was so much fun.  Daddy helped me with my bubble blowing and splashing.    I am getting much better at blowing bubbles because I practice it in the bath at night.  I practice splashing in the bath too and I am getting better at that as well.

Nanny had a talk to the lady about swimming lessons for me.  I love playing in the water and think that lessons sound like lots of fun.
Nanny said that I have to be tested before I can start the lessons so Nanny booked a test for me for today at 11 o'clock.
First I met the teacher.  Her name was Robin.   Then I had the test.  It wasn't very hard really.  I didn't have to do anything!  Nanny and Robin just talked.   Afterwards Nanny said my class will be Beginner Number 1.  I like the sound of that.

After my test, Nanny and I had a swim in the pool.  There are all sorts of fun things that spurt water out at you.  I liked the buckets best.  They fill with water and then all the water falls down on you.  Nanny and I spent a long time  swimming and before we went home I had a little time relaxing in the shallow end of the pool.
I needed that after such a busy morning.

Day 21

Nanny and I were going into town today to see what was happening because there is always something interesting to see and do in Fed Square or along the river.... BUT Daddy suggested that we go to the Melbourne Museum instead.  It sounded a bit boring and I wasn't really keen but... I had a terrific day there.

There is an exhibition about Mesopotamia at the Museum and they have made some activity areas for kids.   At this one we could use foam shapes and blocks to build ziggurats which are big temples.  I liked this and Nanny helped me to share and take my turn with the other kids that were playing there.

There was a wall with a picture of an olden day village on it and there were pictures of people too.  You could move the people and put them in different places because there were magnets at the back of the pictures.  I am really good at this because I have lots of magnet letters and pictures on my fridge at home and I practice them every day when Nanny is cooking my dinner.

There was a place to read books and a place to do puzzles and a place to dress up in olden day clothes.

At the end was a display of animals.  This is a baby giraffe.... Look how tall it is.  There were lots of different animals and you could sit on some of them.

We went outside for a little while and there were all sorts of games that were from the olden days..... Hop scotch and skipping, hoola hoops and stilts.  I wasn't very good at any of them but played with the really big Lego blocks.
I built a tower bigger than me...
I wish I had some of those blocks.  They were great to use.

Nanny and I had lunch at the Museum and then I went to all the activities again.   After a while we left for home and I fell asleep on the way home.  It was such a busy day.
I was really tired... I hope we can go there again....

Day 20

Nanny and I went out again today.  We went to ScienceWorks in Williamstown which isn't very far from where we live.  It is a big building which has all kinds of Science things in it.  Things about light and sound, animals, the planets and lots of other things.  I looked at flashing lights and funny mirrors, old fashioned kitchens and television sets but upstairs is this really great place called the Nitty Gritty City.  I liked the cafe where you could play with pretend food.  I found all kinds of fruit and vegetables.

There was a room that had all kinds of things that made music.  Things that you could tap and things that you could scrape. I had lots of goes on them.  I liked the weather room too.   You could dress pictures of kids in different clothes for different kids of weather.   Nanny helped me with that.  That was fun too.  There were lots of other kids there too.  It was really busy and really noisy.   Nanny and I had lunch outside near the playground and we fed some hungry seagulls.  I had so much fun.  I hope I can go again.  Please Nanny... Please

Day 19

The weather has been rainy again so Nanny and I made some play dough.  Nanny found a recipe for it on her computer and we made it in a bowl.  First Nanny put in some flour which tastes nice.  Then Nanny put in some salt which doesn't taste very nice.  Then she added some water, some oil and some green colouring.  We mixed it till it became a lump.  Nanny and I rolled it on the tray of my high chair and we used some cutters to make little shapes.  It was fun to use.
Nanny bought a cute little mat for me to use with my play dough.   It has all sorts of farm animals on it. Nanny made a duck with the play dough and Daddy made a pig.  Aren't they clever.  I just make shapes..

Day 18

It was a bit sunny today so Nanny and I went looking for a new park.  We found West Gate Park but Nanny thought it had too much water.  I'm not sure what she meant.  But on we went and we found Albert Park.  It is huge.  I had a go on the climbing equipment and then we started to feed the swans.  Well, those swans must have been really hungry.... they came from everywhere.  They got so close that Nanny had to wave her bag at them and they went hisssss.  It was really funny.  But Nanny got fussy and tried to take me away and they followed us!!!  They just would not go away.  So we sat in the car and that was so much fun too.  I could play with all the knobs and switches that Nanny uses when she drives the car.  I loved it......  Driving must be so much fun..

Friday, 3 August 2012

Day 17

The weather has been cold and wet for the last few days so I had to play inside for most of the time.... boring..
AND look what Nanny brought home the other day.  A cute little house.  She had it in her room till today.  I have some little people that I play with and they love their new little house.  Nanny has some more furniture for it at her house and she will give it to me at Christmas time.

I have had a chance to work on my sticker book too.  Nanny does the cutting and I do the pasting.  I like that bit best.  Nanny found these terrific letters that you can stick on things and I stick them next to some of the pictures.  I am sticking J for Juice.  Can you see E for Eggs?  I have to find V for Vegemite and P for Penguins too.

Nanny and I did some cooking too.  We made little biscuits.  Nanny did the measuring and I made sure that they were yummy.  Then we put them into the oven to cook.  I had one when they were finished.  I think we did a great job Nanny..

What will we be doing tomorrow?
I hope it will be a sunny day.

Day 16

Mummy is coming back tonight.  Hurray....
Daddy and Nanny and I went into Seddon to have breakfast this morning.  I had a Baby Chino and some of Nanny's Breakfast.  It was yummy.  We sat out side and I could see lots of things.  At the table next to us were 2 puppies.  They were funny.  I liked them.  Daddy took me for a little walk while Nanny finished her breakfast and then Daddy had to go to work and Nanny took me to the park.

It is a big park with lots of things to do and there were many people there.  I like the climbing part best.  I don't need Nanny to help me at all now.  The swings were very busy.  I had to wait for my turn.  I played with a little boy and we built a tower with bark chip.  That was fun.  I really enjoyed the park.  Thank you for taking me Nanny..

Day 15

Today we went to 'Petitou' which is a small kid's cafe near our house.  They have all sorts of interesting food but I like the Baby Cino's best.  They are yummy.  I like the marshmellows that the lady puts on the plate.  Nanny and I shared a Chicken Pot Pie for lunch.  It was yummy too.  I ate some of the pastry and the carrots and Nanny ate the chicken and celery.  Tara who runs the cafe will be opening the new courtyard soon...  That will be lots of fun because she only has baby toys for us to play with now and there isn't very much room.  Other kids always want to play with the things that I am playing with.  Such Babies.  They have to learn about sharing...

 Excuse me, Nanny!!

Could you knock next time please....
I am reading here.....

Really..... what was Nanny thinking???

Mummy will be back soon.... I can hardly wait......

Day 14

The day after my birthday Nanny and I came home to Melbourne from Byron Bay and Mummy went to Sydney. We flew in a plane with Jet Star written on it and Nanny wasn't very impressed.  They asked Nanny for a paper to prove who I was.  Nanny knows who I am and I have travelled with her many times. What a bother it was.   Nanny was really not impressed at all after that.  It had been a long day after driving from Byron Bay and I was really tired so Nanny and I went into the tiny toilet space so I could have a little cry.  When we came out I felt much better and I had a little sleep.  I think Nanny felt better too.

It was so good to get home at last.  I could play with my toys again.  But I couldn't decide which one to play with .. so I played with all of them.  The zoo puzzle is tricky.  Nanny borrowed it from the library.   I like it.  It has 20 wooden animals and they are all facing different ways and fit into the wooden box.    I am very good at it now.

We went shopping in the afternoon and Nanny let me choose what I was going to wear.  I think my styling was clever.. Don't you?   Relaxed and fashion forward, comfortable and suitable for the changeable Melbourne weather.

Saturday, 21 July 2012

Day 13

Nanny and I stayed at Vic and Jude's place for three days and then we drove to the airport and there was Daddy.  I was so surprised.  He had caught a plane all the way to Queensland too.
It was wonderful to see him.
Then Mummy got a car from a lady at the airport and we got in a drove to a place called Byron Bay.
It took us a long time to get there and we played the Animal Game while we were driving.  I saw a cow and a dog.

We were all staying in a really nice house.  I had my own bedroom.  The next day was my BIRTHDAY.  We went for a drive to the top of a really high hill and there was a beautiful light house.  It was very tall and white.  There were lots of people there.  Some were looking at the water and some were having something to eat and drink at the tables.  I had an ice cream.  It was yummy.

I had a little sleep in the afternoon and when I woke up we started my Birthday Party.  Some of Mummy's friends came and they brought me Birthday Presents.  One was a xylophone which I played all the time.  I was so fast that the picture is blurred.
Can you see how fast I was playing?
We had a BBQ and a cake with animals and 2 candles on it and everyone sang Happy Birthday to Me.... I was 2.  What a wonderful day it was...... another wonderful day....

My Special Day

What a busy few days I have had.  Nanny and I flew to Queensland and we stayed with Vic and Jude and their two dogs.

Then Mummy arrived from Tenterfield.  I had not seen her for nearly 4 weeks.  I had missed her a lot.
It was good to see Mummy again.

I went to the dog park and to the Native Animal Park but my special place was to the beach.  This is my favourite photo of me and Mummy at Burleigh Heads beach.   We had a good time at the beach.  It was lots of fun.
